    I'm looking for a diagram on a waterpump for a C15 (MBN/6NZ)

I am going to pull the waterpump this week and see if I can tap out the sheared off bolt. I was just wondering if someone had a diagram of the install procedure or something I can use for reference just to make sure I put it back together right.... any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hey SHC i dont have diagrams but i can tell you that it's a pretty straight forward job. Draining the coolant is what takes the longest hopefully you have shutoff valves that way its less of a mess. on the single turbo CAT the procedure is much easier than on the acerts. There is two bolts holding a neck on the oil cooler you loosen those and pry on it and depending on your truck you might be able to pull it from the top of the frame rail or through the bottom if not just lay it to the side and wait until you loosen the plate on the back of the pump . Then you remove the short hose on the thermostat housing and then the thermostat housing there's three long bolts that bolt on the head the rest hold the housing together next you remove the plate that's on the water pump and remove your lower hose clamps. Then finally there's six bolts i believe holding the water pump. Hope this helps

    SHC Thanks this.

What he said.....but you don't have to pull the thermostat housing. Just rotate the pump...it'll come out.

Thanks guys. I had the bolt shear off that goes thru the alt bracket (common i am told) so I am hoping to just be able to pull it off and tap the bolt out. CAT shop only says 3 hours to RR the pump, but they are busy and couldn't get it done by end of day Friday and I HAVE TO HAVE it back before Sunday night.... so i guess i will do it myself. If all else fails, I'll put a new pump on the truck even tho the one on it is only 2ys old. Is there any trick for fixing the bolt-shearing problem???

I went through this problem a few times with the broken bolt. My local welder/fab guy welded a piece of steel angle to the alt bracket so it catches one of the lower thermostat housing bolts. This will stabilize the alt bracket and wont need that bolt into the water pump housing. I did this about 3 years ago.....no problems since.

Is there any chance you happen to have a picture of the modified bracket??? I had to do this with my old AC bracket on my S60.... i would highly appreciate it.

Peterbilt quoted me only 3hrs to do the replacement so i decided to just let them hassle with it and get the warranty..... still looking to change the bracket tho.

I'd be interested in a pic as well. Have the same problem with a MBN in a Western Star
