I was hoping for some details on the pay and benefits Brickman.

I myself ran over 3000 miles per week on average as a lease operator and swung thru the house under loads as often as I could which was about every other week. Most miles I ever turned in a week was around 4800 miles but it wasnt exactly legal either.
I know what hustling is all about and for the .83 cpm I was getting at the time you had to hustle.

On a positive note I have spent some time reading Nightwinds Posts and am very impressed with her knowledge and experience. Under her tutelage I believe anyone could make a go of it as an o/o. Juries still out on pay comparisons (company vs lease purchase, or o/o) and actual time spent working on your "business." I hope others will go to her thread and read up on it. More detailed than I could hope to offer thats for sure. I am truly humbled after reading her thread. Kudos to NIGHTWIND!

Gross every yr was in the $150,000 to $160,000 range, I don't have the exact yrly figures in front of me.

As for benefits ......... just like every thing I've gotten in life...... I busted my hump for them.
If you are referring to medical, dental, retirement type of stuff when you are self employed you provide for yourself.

Thanks, I like it. The 86" sleeper sure is nice. Because of the silly way KW measures their sleepers its only about 74" from the back of the seats to the back wall.

Put up or shut up deputy its real simple. I posted my figures, now you post yours. I have more respect for Bronc rider and the prime team than I will ever have for the likes of you (and people like you) who run your mouth tearing down my post and dont have the nerve to post a line by line comparison yourself.
Where did you get your truck, how much did it cost, how long did you finance it for, what was the interest rate, is it paid for?
You want to appear so smart then teach through example; POST YOUR NUMBERS OR STEP OFF

    whoa there....

i was not runnin your truck down....i just do not like the show and the premise that all drivers drive some ratty old, cluttered up pos that can barely hold its own oil

my truck may not be as pretty but she gets the job done....and no duct tape does not hold anything together on mine...ask brick....it used to be his

Thank you bronc, Yea the inside is missing lots of storage space,I removed the speakers under the couch and replaced the two 10" woofers with my refrigerator once again. I made some changes, also removed the flat screen from hangin on the wall, roads too bumpy about fell down. The cosmetics is pretty much all they did,I had all mechanical stuff rebuilt before they chose me. As far as duct tape and all they do that before the show.

It was a blast, met lots of people and still meet people everyday on the road.

Brickman,ur right about the sleeper size, sure wish I had the 86 studio,I have the 72 studio.

jlkklj777, I have said what my expenses are if you would read what is written on your blog!! My truck is paid for also. I avg 2700 to 3700 miles a week, all depends on how I feel like running. Some weeks I run hard and some I dont feel like it. I work to live not live too work. I actually take lots of time off. On a bad week I make about $1500 on a good week I make about $2200. I have put up to your liitle whinning about Co drivers making more then o/o's. You may make more then some o/o's but like Brickman said do not make a blanket statement re that you make more then all o/o's. Youor 1350 a week is not more then me,from what it sounds like Brickman,Designors and bronc. I have plenty of friends who make lots more then me because they run run run. After ALL expenses I still take home about a avg of $70 a year. 2 years ago I didnt run much at all I only took home $57500 for the year.

Now we sound like little kids here,I make more then you,no I make more then you !! back and forth. It sounds like you make good money. If you run for Estes, yello, fedex or something like that. If not I dont see how you get all weekends off and thru the house every week and still get 3000 miles a week. Thats kinda hard to do with a general freight co. If you do though GOOD FOR YOU!!!
Just DO not compare your unsuccessfull days as a o/o to all other o/o's. I think your talking about stuff you have no clue about. You do not know me,your not my accountant so do not bragg about that you make the most money out here. Lots of o/o do way more then a lousy $1350 a week, and thats what you gross not net!!! Medical ins? Well we all pay for it,If you get it free GOOD FOR YOU,never heard of a co giving free medical ins. As far respect goes, I see people like you all the time, bragging about this and bragging about that. They seem to know it all and tried everything. I only speak of my own knowledge on stuff, when I'm wrong I'm not too big headed to say so,I was wrong about the truck numbers. I apologized to brickman( my own show had numbers on the truck !! lol haha oooppps ) I meet people like you all the time during traffic stops ( I write them up too )and all types of calls. Just cant talk to people like you cause you do not listen,do not learn and think everyone is wrong. It is simple being a o/o and you failed at it. Go figure.

Designors, saying that a o/o making .90 plus fuel surcharge is not a o/o. HAHA you sound silly you know that. Actually most o/o make that unless they have their own authority or etc. I actually had my own authority,my own trailer and all that junk. Looked real nice a black 50' spread stainless front and rear with lots of lights, matched my black kw. Looked really cool, but boy it wasnt worth it at all. I paid for everything and I mean everything like I imagine you do also. After all the expenses, free dead head no discounts on repairs, fuel etc it doesnt add up. Finding your own loads, dealing with brokers. Make sure no claims on the load or your in trouble. Running flat bed is a different ball game all together, easier! Still got lots of expenses as well. I get $1.27 a mile for EVERY mile dispatched (loaded and empty)Goes up when fuel surcharge goes up. I DO NOT go anywhere for free!!! I DO NOT pay for permits, base plates, tolls, lumpers, scale tickets, fuel tax, road tax or my 2290. ALL I PAY FOR IS FUEL,TRUCK INSURANCE AND OCCUPATIONAL INS. Thats it. I avg $110k to $130k . Depends how much time I take off. I just took the past 3 1/2 weeks off and still did good.

Brickman, you pull for Landstar?I worked for Landstar back in 2001,after I got rid of my own authority.
Bronc you drive for Prime ? Do you know Brian Love at Prime ? I worked there back in 1997

I just checked out jlkklj777 profile and all his postings. Boy this guy knows everything about everything!! Tells rookie drivers about US EXPRESS,INTERSTATE etc. Saying newbie drivers make $50 to a $100 a day to start ? LOL Maybe a long time ago. Talks about the cheapest insurance. Log book tricks. Says in this blog he makes more then all o/o's.

So jlkklj777,is there anything that you do not know everything about ?Are you the truck driver who says that only DOT can check a log book ? Pull over a truck ? Are you the driver who thinks the US Marshal will run to your help at a scale house if your being mistreated? lol

You sure have lots of postings on here telling people about all of your knowledge and all that read about in books.

I know this kid that lives near my Fathers house. He is 25 years old,a college student and one of the smartest people I know(book smart) after talking to him you realize he has no COMMON SENSE. In the real world, what you read in a book or magazine is not allways what you get in real life. Sure wasnt when I signed up for this trucking career lol Should have listened to my father and become a Lawyer... Some truck drivers make you need to have a pair of knee high boots, the bull s*&% gets pretty high !!!

By the way HAPPY NEW YEARS to you all. Stay safe

jlkklj777, no hard feelings man. you dont need to respect me.Lots of people I've dealt with dont like me either!! The ones getting tickets and chrome bracelets anyways....Until next time ...... Be good and take care
