May told me that I could be a trainer after 6 months. They obviously didn't see me double clutch...lol!
-
Then stay away from them as well. You can't be a trainer when you're still learning, but evidently Werner and May have plenty of people who are simultaneously learning and training...
How long was your driving school course? -
3 weeks/160 hours...exhuasting...10 hours days
-
float it like you do a dirt bike then try again later to double clutch.
-
3 week...####. I don't think Crete would hire you out of a 3-week course. I went to a 10-week community college course and they hired me. It's not perfect, but you can't argue with 34cpm fresh out of driving school.

OMG !!! and Where did You take Your Training at ??? and They did Not teach You about or how to use the Clutch Properly ? OK enough said about the "School" It's a GOOD Thing You took the the time to ask the Real Professionals here at this site. First ! I would like to inform You, I am a Professional Driver of 36 yrs and Taught Truck Driving School for 4 yrs at ROP in Rancho San Diego,CA. The Clutch has a few functions some trucks will Not Start until you push and hold the clutch pedal in, because of a safety switch located in the transmission, just a precaution in case if the truck is in gear.
TERMINOLOGY: (Double Clutching) Definition to push in the clutch pedal twice while shifting gears, once to remove transmission from one gear and again to put transmission into another gear, this procedure is preformed rapidly while only pushing the clutch pedal about half way down so as NOT to engage THE CLUTCH BRAKE and either lowing or rising Your engines RPM's to keep in sync with your transmission. (Note: If Your Grinding the Gears ALOT ! You might want to switch to an AUTOMATIC).
1st: The Clutch Pedal is used to engage and disengage the Clutch and what is called the Clutch Brake, The Clutch is what Starts and Keeps the Tractor in motion while in gear,The Clutch Brake is ONLY engaged while pushing the Clutch Pedal ALL THE WAY IN OR DOWN, The purpose Clutch Brake is to STOP the Transmission Shaft (Not the drive shaft/line) from spinning so you can shift the transmission into gear WITHOUT GRINDING THE GEARS AND YOU SHOULD ONLY USE THE CLUTCH BRAKE WHEN YOUR AT A COMPLETE STOP !
2nd:The purpose of the Clutch is used to engage the Engine to the Drive Train, Drive train consists of the Clutch Plates (2), Spacer plate, Pressure Plate and Throw Out Bearing used to relieve the Pressure off the Clutch Plates while pressing in the Clutch Pedal, Transmission, Drive lines, Third Member (REAR ENDS), Axles then the Wheel Hub and Wheels in just that order.
I hope this has been helpful sincerely Curtis Lambert
