Central Refrigerated Truck Stop II

Sometimes you pick up on Tuesday an don't deliver until Thursday or Friday. So, you have to average the two weeks out. I've met solos who claim 4,000+ consistently, but I find it hard to believe! I'm happy at 2,800, but always trying for more.

 

Anyone ever feel like a prisoner of the log book? It's gonna be a late and sleepy night.

 

I must admit that's the nice thing about running team. However this last time we were bumping into our 70 hours.

 

i wanted ot try team, my prob is I dont smoke and its been hard to find a partner tht dont either

 

I'd team in a second if I could find a professional from Arkansas who I knew was clean, didn't smoke, was driven to do more, and could run their whole 11 if they had to to get a load where it's suppose to be on time. Lol, asking way too much i know. I may not even be able to stay out much longer even running solo. My girl has radiation treatment next and the kids are starting to run all over her because she's still hurting from surgery and can't whoop their tails for being heathens... Sucks but I have to start exploring ways to be there more at least until she's better.

 

Family comes FIRST!! Do what you need to do, however, IF you leave Central, you can't leave us... We will hunt you down and find you <evil grin>!!

 

Lady K yes I'm a trainer. I don't think it is going to affect me much because they are still giving me a student.
AF- I wish you and your lady the best. I can relate to trying to find a 2 code. I have been trying for a while and keep getting students on their trainers truck who want $700-800/week or 50% and expect me to pay off their school. Maybe I'm too cheap. I offer $500/week guaranteed or 45%. I reduce it $100/week until their loan is paid off.

I am at crswvc now. Well kinda I'm waiting to get inspected 23min and counting. Hopefully I'll get out of here tomorrow morning.

 

Thanks. I hear ya on the co-pilot, it's kind of a nonstop catch 22. New students are still naive enough to think they'll be the ones who get rich their first year out so they want more than they've proven they're worth. Good drivers are hard to come by and I think the best are always going to want to own the truck, not drive for somebody. Or if you do get teamed with someone good, i cant see them lasting once they start thinking of how much you make in a good week. People seem to tune out the expenses of getting your truck through a typical year. (I'm dreading buying tires this summer!) I haven't really tried to look for anyone though. All the stuff happening at home I'm always worried I'll get a phone call saying I have to come home now... And I'll be running home at 65mph, line 5 all the way!! I just realized I spend entirely too much time on TTR when I can't sleep!
