Delivered in grand island today. They gave me a Lincoln to olney, il picking up tomorrow at 1800 delivers Monday at 0500. Finally had time to stop by petro in York to get this trailer aligned. It dog legs to the right really bad. After 2 hours mechanic tells me they can't do the alignment because the adjusting nut won't break loose. Says the bushings are probably shot. I'll let mark know about it. I really wish we could get these trailers in shape. Basic maintenance now would save so much time and money in the long run.

as far as drivers grabbing bad trlrs, the new albany yard has locks on the good trlrs and no one can take one unless kooter unlocks it.so drivers are taking the ones that need work.seems to me that the bad trlrs should be locked and the good one shuold be available for a driver to grab.not in new albany...par for the course for the brain trust at that shop

If Cooter n Scooter were doing their jobs in the shop there wouldnt be trsiler issues. I go there and I never see them working on trailers. they only end up fixing tractors but take 3 times as long.

Speaking of trailer issues. At my company it's the hubs that seem to be neglected. You almost need a hammer and chisel to scrape the dried/gummed up oil/grease off the sight glass. Most instances, the only way to get a read on the hub oil is to open it up and look inside. Of course, on a really cold day, this isn't always a good option. The glass (plastic) gets so brittle that on more than one occasion, I've broken them just by trying to pull the cap off.

I think them two in new Albany can do the job if they do it. Darrel is always doing emails or something on the computer. I am sure most is asking if he can do what ever to fix something. Then he is smoking before he gets back to work. They need a shop Forman who does all the desk work and 2-3 workers who just work. They run so fast on the trl's that they miss a lot of stuff. The guy they use on the side just ilusing FRE as a good pay day. Got a trl the other guy did a dot on and he didn't write the right trl # on the form then scratches it out and writes it again. He well did the service on the refer and the coolant is half empty. It comes down to taken pride in your work. What we got in new Albany isn't pride it's winning the lotto every week.

Looks like I might get a reset this weekend as well.
Just talked to Shipping Supervisor at Fremont Beef Co. They can't load this now until Mon.

I called and sent a msg, don't know what they want me to do now.

I just received an email from Don with my flight info, hotel info and orientation plan. So I will be in Denver tomorrow afternoon. He said it had snowed pretty good today already but
was supposed to be 65 on Wednesday when I should be done and leaving.

Kathi and I are really hoping this is going to be "The One". I spent 25 years at the same place before retiring from my first career. I have enjoyed my work with Navistar but we needed benefits
and they didnt offer them to contracted drivers.

Thanks to all of you for telling the truth here, I know FRE isn't perfect, but I am hoping they will at least listen to what is going on from our point of view.

I look forward to meeting all of you and the first round is always on me!
