Cowboy you better have already said yes to Maverick by the time you read this!! Seriously. I love pulling a flat for Maverick. You ARE gonna WORK HARD for that pay tho, mind you! You find it a serious butt-whippin' the first few weeks, but you will grow to love it. I wish you the best of luck! Get over on the Maverick threads and let us know how you are doing. We have alot of regular posters on our threads.
SHC Thanks this. -
You are correct on all. I will add that you can drive our trucks in automatic OR you CAN SHIFT THEM MANUALLY (which most of us do). Yes, the trucks have the APU/EPU's. The trucks are extremely nice and very comfortable to kick back in after a very hard days work.

anything would beat the big blue screw...
i drove for Maverick for a couple of years, they were alright. -
Isn't Maverick ordering some of the new trucks with manual transmissions??? I remember hearing they were going to start offering an option to some of the guys who have been there a while, if I remember correct, they called them "black hat" drivers or something like that..... anyways, an auto-trans is not the end of the world anyways, especially when they are paying you about .10cpm more than Weiner
-
No, I doubt that they are going to order anything different than what has been working so well for them. Maverick does not tend to stray from their successful model. Black Hats are those who have earned the DRIVER OF THE MONTH award.

I've never heard anything good about Werner. Even if Maverick was paying the exact same money as Werner, I would go with Maverick.
-
Na we just got in some brand new 14's, there all autos with the option to manually shift. I like the autos, I didn't think I would cause I wouldn't feel like a "real trucker" but I fell in love with it. Mainly it's just one more thing to make your life a little easier.
-
Maverick will stick with the automatics because they honestly believe it's safer to concentrate on driving and not shifting.
that, and it's one less thing to teach a cdl mill fresh noob.Cowboy13 Thanks this. -
If they have to concentrate on shifting, they shouldnt be driving. The safest route is to avoid hiring people who should not be driving.
