So my first week on the road has been fun, I love the driving aspect, and I love being out here on the road, that being said, My instructor is just stating to get on my nerves alot. . .The first of all he only spent an hour out of the required four with me on the shifting range/training pad, and I have yet to back, and when ever I am driving he is talking in Spanish on his phone the whole time, needless to say this is very distracting, especially to a new driver, and while I understand and don't expect him to sit jump and do nothing, he should be paying attention to me and the road, but there have been several instances where I have missed a turn because he doesn't want to show me how the qualcomm works, or give me directions in advance, and just yesterday I figured out why i was having a hard time down shifting I was holding the clutch every time I was hitting the brake, and didnt know I only needed to clutch when I was shifting or coming to a stop.
But the trump card happened the other day, this random girl jumped up on our truck in a mall parking lot, and started flirting with him, they went on a date, and next thing i know I was told to go find something to do until he tells me to come back to the truck. . .yeah its pretty well implied what happened there, and well I understand it is his truck, and hes a lease operator, im just stressed as hell because of all this, and my fm thinks he is the best trainer she has :-/
Im done ranting
just need to vent about this past week

Sorry about your bad week driver, but if it's any consolation I just had a daxx good laugh!
Just worry about your technics, and if you miss more turns, try to use it as a learning opportunity. Good Luck!RAGE 18 Thanks this. -
Many of the instructors leave the backing exercises until the last part of your instructional period - it's not uncommon. Distractions while driving are something you're going to have to deal with, so keep you're head about you and ignore the chatter - if you do something that worries him, you'll hear about it. Dude, keep your ultimate goal in mind... getting your CDL, getting through training, and out on your own.

So where is this mall at?
-
The mall is in virgina...I now suspect he has been drinking tonight, but can't confirm if he's drunk or tired, he denies it, but my gut is saying otherwise
-
Yeah, I'd be sayin' "See ya' cpt."
