Is he driving now after he has been drinking? I mean, can you smell it on his breathe? If you are sure he has been drinking, than you need to get off that freaking truck asap!

That's the thing, he was driving fine, and he was very adimint that he would never drink and drive, but something felt off, but It's a very serious thing so I don't want to call safety unless I'm sure

Ur assumptions could be wrong. Just drive the truck he is letting you feel the truck on the highways how she handles. U see how u found out things on ur own? Well there is a million more things yet to find out. Hey was the chick good lookin? If she was then kudos to ur trainer dont be a khock blocker. Best of luck!

This guy is a real ahole,it is the extra cash , you are in his way he is a real loser , get off that truck soon as you can, when you get back to one of the terminals ask for another trainer, it sounds like you are in a dangerous situation. Alot of drivers can't work anywhere else like in a work setting where they have to behave, they can't be civil for that long. They spend all day on the phone b--ting some poor ####### or their unspecting wife. I went through some s===t like that, hang in there.

Does'nt sound like you and your trainer are'nt fighting. But if he's not giving you the proper training you need then I would suggest requesting a new trainer ASAP.What's going to happen when you get on your own and then feel like you have'nt had any training as all. Many of the new drivers get in accidents once they're on their own because either not enough city driving, maybe very little backing, maybe getting nervous because they got lost trying to find the customer. You need to learn all that before they turn you loose. If by chance once training is over with and you feel you're not ready to be on your own,you can request more training.

Look, you gotta man up. Truck driving isnt hard, shifting is something you learn by doing, not by someone sitting beside you barking orders. It sounds as if you want someone to hold your hand and guide you thru everything. "Trainers" are basicly there to keep you from getting into trouble and help GUIDE you thru your learning process. IMO learning to drive is something that you teach yourself while using the trainer to answer questions, NOT for you get detailed step by step directions of what to do. Get comfortable with the truck and get a little SELF CONFIDENCE!!

Why does it matter if he is on the phone; what do you want him to do?? Talk you thru driving down the interstate?? He is paying more attention then you think he is!! Apparently he is comfortable enough to relax a little with you driving!!

Distracting?? Whats the difference between him talking on the phone or the radio playing or cb playing??

As far as missing turns, take some initiative and get the route information BEFORE you even start driving!! Why in the world would you get in the drivers seat and start driving with no clue of where your going or how your gonna get there??

The last part shouldnt happen BUT while you are on his truck, it is also your truck!! While I would have no problem giving him sometime alone time with his lady friend, if you were uncomfortable you need to speak up and tell him no!!

We're all grown people and need to act like it and that means taking initiative, being self confident, and sticking up for yourself.

It's a tough call if you speak to him about it, could possibly backfire and he'll make up some story to get you off his truck, then again it may not,

If you aren't comfortable, put in a request for another and tell them why.. I had one that sent a lady to me, then stayed away from the truck for quite awhile, figured he sent her since he didn't show up for so long, when I did I spoke to him about it,, told him not to do that, he respected that, and we finished up, some years later on a refresher course, had another that made up a story to get me off the truck. finished with the third. I learned something from all.

So... put in a call for "another one?" That'll be TWO. You need to start thinking about this dogchimp, to someone looking in from the outside (like driver management) it's going to start looking less like an instructor problem, and more like a trainee problem.

This guy isn't yelling at you... he's talking on the phone some - which is his right. If he's not constantly biotchin' at you about your driving, you must be doing ok. If you are unsure where a turn is coming up, ask him. If there is something you don't understand, interrupt him, and ask him.

Maybe you ought to look at how YOU are coming into this situation. And there's another question you should be asking yourself... is trucking something you really want to be doing?
