laramie wy at the petro finishing up a 34 did the tarp like u guys said both ends and yeah it didnt work still to much air and 35-50 mph gusts are litterally shredding my back tarp to pieces front one is not doing so hot either. called the shop and was told to run with it and i quote "pieces of tarp over the load is better then showing up with no tarp" i was like "ok if u say so" i ended up throwing a 3 2 in. ratchet straps over the top just in case whats left of the tarps decide to say "see ya" one of them snapped this morning not cut SNAPPED!! pulled over saved the ratched and what was left of the strap and kept on pushing on the head wind was so strong could barley get it above 60 so i do believe my fuel economy is in the toilet lol.
i think its safe to say now i miss my ME-TX and back run lol maybe the run out of here will be better considering i wont have to tarp it lol
one of our trucks is stuck down in lincoln NE said the snow is so bad u cant see a foot in front of u and i guess there was a 10 truck wreck somewhere out there
400 more miles to my destination wish me luck guysaiwiron Thanks this. -

Sorry to hear that mate.
If they dont want straps on it, not a lot you can do really. I would have thought that putting the front flap over the sides would have helped, but guess not on a flatbed.

What's giving you all the problems is that the tarps are too short for the load. Since they don't come all the way to the deck, you can't stop the wind from getting under it and making it a big parachute.
I would have taken some rope and threaded it thru all the bottom rings and tied it tight against the product. Then taken the bungees and went 1 row up and ran them to the rubrail. Also I would have X the bungees to help keep it from flapping. Right now you have it pulled to the rail and it's shaped like a tentLogan76 and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
only put the flap over top in the front, you tuck the flap in the rear (such as you had the front) that way the wind cant get under it.
I agree with SHC, its time for some 10 foot tarps.SHC Thanks this. -
Yup some 30 by 30 big boy tarps
