This may have been asked before on here but was just contacted by JB Hunt to pull their vans with my truck. They have two or three ways they pay. I am north of Atlanta between Atlanta and Chattanooga and was looking for anyone with experience doing this with them. Which pay works the best considering my home location. If you have had a bad experience with Hunt please tell me why and be specific. I do realize that your success lies in the hands of the dispatcher you are asigned but any feed back would be very much welcomed. Thanks!

I did it for two weeks and netted $550. So if you want to run your tail off for $225/wk go for it. Main problems was their loaded miles are way off, like 20% or more, especially when you get into VA and places, and they don't mind deadheading you 120-200 miles between loads either. Maybe my experience was the exception rather than the rule, but I found it much worse than running load board freight. In fact I believe I could just randomly take loads off of loadboards without being choosy and do better than JB Power Only.

Let's sum this up with two words "CHEAP FREIGHT". They kept calling and pestering me to pull their freight I told them they didn't pay enough. Flat bed had slowed down so I thought what the heck I would try it for a couple weeks. At the end of the first week when my driver dropped the last load I dead headed him home and told them to stick it. They've called and wanted to know what they would have to do to get us to pull their freight again and I told them come up on their rates cause they was cheap and if I wanted to pull vans I could run off a load board and make more money.

They greatly oversell the value of letting you use their dry vans for free. Their rates are pitiful. Having your own trailer and running ANY load off the load board would net more on average than they would pay.

    dannythetrucker Thanks this.
