My husband is starting Crete soon and we just want to know some information if any of u have it. He worked with averitt for six months and is going to Crete now mainly due to the rider policy and pay. He was told he'd get 37 cents a mile. Basically is it a good company? Do they do sleep apnea tests ? What's the trucks like? Double bunks? Trainers? Milage? How was ur orientation experience ? How fast do they let the trucks go? How offer are you stuck sitting that was a major problem at averitt. Overall is it a good company?

Most those questions are answered in the Crete thread u just posted in. Some even label sleep apnea testing and Crete equipment lol. Read. Crete a year in review on the good company page and start at.the end and read backwards 10 or so pages to get a good understanding.

.37 a mile sounds like he will be on a dedicated run cuz most start out at .40 on the national account. Good company? well thats an opinion that changes everyday by every driver depending what terminal they are in. yes you do a sleep apenea if your bmi is out of wack. most of the trucks are good personally i hate prostars so im in a cascadia and all is good here. yes some of them have double bunks mainly if you have two people in the truck they will...i think the trainer is a minimum of a year no accidents and no mess ups on your logs. orientation was a breeze they made us feel at home some of us were in shock they whole time waiting to see their true colors but it never came. i went on a three day adventure on a trainers truck when done i had a truck in about 10 hours and was off on my own. if i have hours i dont sit within 15 minutes of getting empty normally i have another load. i think the miles question is a matter of how you communicate with the people you work with you can call in and b**** them out and get nothing or you can talk to them like your a professional and ask nicely and i always come out with 2800-3400 miles a week depending where im at.

Just hope you don't have to submit to their sleep apnea test. It is a farce of the worst kind. And I'm a Crete driver.

OK I know most of these answers already I have read posts before and also talked to recruiters we all know they're good at lying and reading posts some are old also just wanted more opinions . .37 a mile yes that is dedicated he is looking into he was with averitt did a sleep test tthere and can not handle the sleep machine I knew they did testing but how can you help that is there a way to ask for a bipap and also he might want to retest on the sleep machine the doctor at averitt told him while taking the test to sleep on his back which he doesn't do and even told him he slept good on his side also he quit breathing for abt 22 seconds and 20 seconds is the limit as to were another Guy next door quit breathing for two whole minutes which is BS those sleep machines or horrible some people shouldn't have them he can't breath with his and yeah I know u HAVE to but in all how are the trainers and how is dispatch are they pretty good to u or like every other company and don't care? He was curious abt double bunk since we have a son. As far as taking ur truck home is there any restrictions where u can't park it? I just wanna no if overall they are pretty fair as a company I've also heard 62 MPH and some 65 MPH? So which is it? I'm excited abt Crete for him averitt held us back a lot I just hope this is a better place for us.

all company trucks are gov. at 62mph the owner operators while buying the truck is gov at 65. the sleep study is stupid i went through it and im the same way i dont sleep on my back i sleep on my face but in the end if they do the study and you end up needing the machine it really is for the health of the driver. crete is very lax on truck restrictions they really seem to be a minimal bs company. i normally park my trlr at the truck stop lock it up and driver the truck home and they dont care. the dispatchers arent really a problem for me i think if you communicate with them properly you shouldnt have any problems and if you cant get enough miles talk to your TM about your productivity but it shouldnt be a issue as freight is picking up again and in a hurry. my trainer was a idiot but i was only with him for three days so no big deal. fat non showering old hippy ww2 vet dude that just got on my nerves. i would say 95% of the freight is drop and hook i cant honestly remember when i did a live load/unload. it is what you make of it but my checks are fat and im happy i hope he is too. Where are yall based out of?

Abt 2 hrs from the Lenoir city TN terminal and when my husband worked with averitt their trucks were set at 65 MPH. He had a rough time with the dispatchers there and having to sit a lot his highest check ever there after taxes was 681 never could make more was with them over 6 months. Crete pays more you can take your truck home and they have a child rider policy and don't make u pay to take out ur family so its one reason we are looking into them. Do they have any automatic trucks? Just curious on that. He starts the 18th for orientation then out 4 weeks with trainer.. how good are they in getting u a truck? At averitt he had to wait a week and only went out one day so once again horrible check we've got a lot of bills and cdl loan to catch up on so were looking.g for something stable or at least to were he isn't making $300 as a normal pay check if we wanted that he could find some rinkydink job in town and be home for that much

well i turned in 6300 miles this week at .42 or .43 divide that in two and thats what i get every week. if you put forth the effort and go out a little longer you will make more. trucking is not the best career to have but you have to make a descion. stay close to home and not making much money or stay out a little more and provide your family with the things they need. i just had a baby not to long ago maybe 6-7 months and i have a 4 year old. i make enough that next week im buying a house and my wife is quitting her job to be a stay at home mom. so if that doesnt answer your question about money then i dont know what will. as stated before your husband will be in a truck within a day of getting off the trainers truck.

Well that's good ... our main issue is getting stuck sitting waiting on loads like averitt had him do he would go and deliver these places and still have no load and be stuck waiting just until they don't have to pay u or sometimes longer dispatch was always saying checking with planner he just sat barely brought home much Crete fits a lot of our needs ... just hope its a good company good experience. Do you know abt putting carseats in? we've got a 3 yr old that will. Go out some times and idk but I've heard there's a certain way to put it in (the carseat) what's the lowest mileage uve made in say a 7 day period or so? What would u say there drop and hook percentage really is?
