So now that I'm in orientation with Sammons I will let the cat out off the bag. The company I was with was Tennant Truck Lines out of Colona IL. I'm not going to go into a big bashing rant on here about them, things just didn't work out between me and them. When I turned my truck in I asked for a receipt that I turned the truck in in acceptable condition. They refused to give me one, said they don't do that. When I asked why they couldn't make one up for me. I was told that "You decided to leave us and you not making us money anymore, so I'm not going to waste anymore time on you." When I tried to get up to the front offices to talk to the owner she kicked me off of the property.
So I am thinking them not wanting to fix the trailer was also because I was leaving. I was with them for almost 6 months and up untill I turned in my two weeks I never had any major issues with them. I only ever had to get service on the road twice and both times I had no issues from them. The only reason I even started looking to go somewhere else was because in Jan they put me on a rookie dispatchers board and my miles went way down. I asked to get put back on my old dispatchers board and they drug there feet. So I started looking and found Sammons. I got a new dispatcher when mine quit and my miles went back up.
I guess what I'm trying to say is. When I turned in my two weeks I wasn't leaving them because I was unhappy. I was just leaving for a better opportunity. In fact in the back of my mind I was thinking that if Sammons didn't work out I could always go back to Tennant. I guess that won't happen anymore since I'm banned from the property. I'm really not worried about that anymore though, I really like what I've seen of Sammons, I think things will work out great here. It's the first job I've ever had where they really treat you like family, everybody I've meet so far has been very nice. Everything we've talked about in orientation has been backed up with actual facts. I think they are one of the last old school company's out there that really cares about there drivers.
Like I said I'm not trying to trash Tennant on here, just wanted to relate the facts of what happened to me. As you can expect my opinion of them is pretty low right now, but I'll keep my opinion my own.

I'm in Missoula. I know the dispatcher your talking about, she was my first dispatcher with them. She was a great dispatcher, made me plenty of money. Honestly I'd probably still be with them if she had stayed my dispatcher, she really took care of her guy's. I take it you knew her from when she worked for the company in GA? I'm not sure about the one with the daughter I guess I might figure it out as time goes by.
They wont let you do heavy haul when you're doing L/P. But I'm sure we'll run into each other at some time. -
milskired Thanks this.
