Friend just got in a truck with that problem(batteries) and that has been his experience in less than 3 days of running it.

I have a 2000 watt inverter . I put Sears Die Hard Platinum Plus AGP Marine batteries in . Awesome batteries! Pricey , but they were worth the investment. 3 year OTC exchange , not Pro-rated . Your friend might look into them . I put in two banks , for a total of 6 .

i am going by boomer to get the new pulleys installed on my dynasys. it enables the rpm on the engine to cut in half and run as quiet as the tripac. the dynasys has the same engine as the tripac but also runs a 6500 watt generator and an alternator . the tripac is quieter because its only running an alternator.

the pulley system keeps the generator and alternator running the same rpm with the engine at half the rpm.

allam, glad to hear the fix requires 90 minutes. i never stopped using mine

I have over 8500 hours on my Tripac APU. In January, I replaced the Espar bunk heater. Got a 2 year/2000 hour warranty with it. It's good down to around 5 above. At zero, the entire truck is uncomfortable enough, I'll idle the big engine at 900 or 1000 RPM.
In September last year, I took it in to Thermo-King in Kent WA because it just would not stay running. 5 corroded wires, a blown fusible link, bad main power switch, 4 new motor mounts later, I was out the door.

I have the arctic kit installed as well and it will monitor the engine and the battery voltage, turning off/on as needed.

Uses very little oil. I think I have put in 2 pints since I bought the truck in July 2012.

I have found with the EGR on my truck, the more I idle it, the more fits it gives me. The more I use the APU, the less problems I have with the main engine.

I was going to put a tripac with the arctic package in my KW and the dealer in Boise wouldn't negotiate. They wanted $10k installed, WITHOUT the bunk heater (since I already have it). I said I wanted either a discount for the bunk heater or the full / best warranty for that $10k. They never called me back.

you didn't say what model your main engine is , but the best thing to do with an EGR is Delete it. No more problems.

For those that own the Tripac, what is your real-life experience with fuel consumption? I have heard claims of consumption as low as 0.1 gallons per hour but want to confirm if that hold true in the field.
