Got loaded with a load of tile grout both in bags and buckets. All the pallets were different sizes so tarping was a pain in the #####. It took about 3 hours to load then another 2 to get it all secured and tarped. By the time I was done I was coated with a nasty white powder that was just floating around in the air around this plant. So I decided to just stop at the flying j in Lodi ca. And get going about 3-4 in the morning.
Going to be taking the scenic tour through Oregon and Idaho up the 95 as I've got 4 stops on this trip. First stop in Moscow Id. Then onto Spokane wa. Then up to Bonners Ferry Id. Then on to Missoula for my final stop.
So far I am loving flatbed and the dispatchers are fantastic. It's a lot more work than pulling a van but it feels good to be challenging myself again. -
If you have the time and desire..... Please break out the time, mileage and pay for this trip.
Mileage pay, tarp pay, per drop pay, total hours used etc......
I know the guys on the van side get a good percentage of their income from per stop pay etc..... Would be interesting to see how this particular run works out on the flat side. -
snowmojim Thanks this.

The trip went pretty smooth, us 95 is a long slow drive but I hit all my drops on time. I had to fold my tarps up in high wind though so that was interesting lol. I picked up all the things I have been needing from Missoula, such as more strap protectors and short v-boards. Now I am getting ready to go pick up a load from Columbia falls mt. Going somewhere in Wisconsin.

They've got me rolling good now, I just dropped this load of plywood in Sparta and am now on my way to Albert lea Mn. To pick up a load of bailing twine going to Idaho after which I am going to load at the same spot I drop at for my next load.

This run started out fantastic, I had time to squeeze in a 34 at home before I delivered Tuesday morning. I got untarped unloaded then reloaded and tarped in about 21/2 hours. I have another load of bailing twine going to Blythe ca. Then a second drop in imperial ca. Clear down by the border. I made it to brigham city last night and spent the night at home. When I got up I couldn't hardly move I was so stiff and sore, I felt really queasy right after I got out to my truck I promptly lost my breakfast.
I decided to push on though and made it about to nephi ut. Then had to stop and take a 2 hour nap because I was about to pass out. After my nap I felt good enough to push on for awhile stopping every hour or so to throw up. So now I am in moapa nv. Just north of Vegas shut down for the night, my legs were so stiff I couldn't hardly press the clutch anymore. I have about 4 hours to my first stop and I am hell bent on making my drops on time and getting reloaded and out of California.
The only thing I can think of is when I took my 34 at home I went out for sushi with some freinds, maybe I've got food poisoning from that. Oh well, hope tomorrow goes better -
Oh, man
i am sorry to hear that. I hope you get to where you need to safely and get better soon.Milktanker Thanks this.
