The TA in..Terrell? TX has bullet proof glass at their fuel desk as well because they've been robbed a few times. Most recently the same guy who robbed them prior came in, saw the bullet proof glass, and turned around and walked out. It's a shame they had to resort to installing it because it does make things a little more of a pain (like getting your scale ticket, getting a photocopy, paying for anything in the store, etc.) but it's a necessity.
P.S. just like when you're at an aquarium, don't tap on the fuel desk. it scares the fishes..er..employees. -
It doesn't always matter if you just fork over the money easily. A guy at our local 711 gave the what they wanted then they tied the guy up. After leaving him in the backroom tied up for a few minutes while they went through the rest of the store getting whatever they felt like, they came back and shot him. Some of these people don't give a rats behind about human life.

It's a sad fact that many robbers / thieves do not care about hurting or killing another person to get the money. The drug addicts are just like zombies. They look for an easy oppertunity. A truck stop is an easy target-close to quickly accessable escape routes. I would think that the cashier at the front of a truck stop / gas station combo would be more of a target than the commercial fuel counter. Guess it depends on the layout of the building.

The commercial fuel counter is where large amounts of cash change hands...
