got to my mail today and some other things to do at home. Got my official Michigan CDL, looks a lot different than the regular drivers license. got a bunch of mail from Roehl, insurance and stuff. Got some cool stuff from the Roehl honor program too.

still have to get my gps and I want to get a small TV too. Any advice on the Columbia? size of tv 19". use that tv strap to secure it down in that TV cabinet or has someone figured out a way to mount a flat panel legally and safely... also, does that antennae wire in that cabinet work good? Im think digital tv over the air free and dvd's which i have plenty of. I can probably hook up my droid and try some of that stuff out when i have time too. any advice appreciated.

So load wasnt going to be ready til late so parked bobtail across the street. Anybody been to palatka fl GP knows across the street parking you have to be careful not to get stuck in soft deep sand right where u come into the small lot. I almost got stuck but played with the pedal and got her out of it and parked. Lil later I heard loud revving of a engine only to see a knight truck stuck and another knight truck backed up to him trying to set him free. A small wrecker near by I guess for the call gave him some chains and the free him. Good thing to have some other drivers for help. Both trucks and most trucks here are bobtail since GP won't let you wait on property for a load. Not even 5 min later a MVT truck and trl come in he goes straight through the thick stuff only to get stuck. Looks deep, lol oh entertainment after my movie continues lol

Yeah, you want to stay close to the road and away from tree line there, saw two trucks get stuck when I was there before Christmas. Big tow truck came and yanked them out. Someone told me he's right down the road and that place is his bread and butter.

I keep hearing over and over how crappy the parking is for the trucks is, you would think they would care for them a little better seing how the freight is their bread and butter also who pays for all of the issues you run into on the road anyway should a guy expect to have a secret stash for this stuff and lumpers at all times.

Gp doesn't care, and the place in Palatka is a makeshift waiting area, not on GP land. We're kind of lucky to be able to use it. Sucks yes, but deal with. Also if you get stuck for any reason at all, and have to pay to get towed out, it's automatic preventable incident. I learned that with that crap getting stuck in St. Paul yard. I was lucky I got pulled out by one of our own guys.

lumpers and such are paid with comchecks. You'll learn about that stuff in school/orientation.

found a garmin 465t on craigslist locally today, has the truck version, it's a couple of years old but cheap. I'm so confused on the big ones I figure I will give this one a try and then upgrade. I'm still going to use my atlas and trip plan appropriately so hopefully this garmin will help in lane selection and approximate distance and getting to shippers/cons to a degree. my sister hooked me up with a twin xl matress pad, nice one and some more sheets. Still setting it all up and getting some hometime tasks done. Looking forward to dinner with a friend tonight. Ready to go Saturday,,,and am really looking forward to spring getting here, it's still friggin cold in michigan. I hope everyone had a good day driving and wishing the best for my RDTC classmate Technoroom. He should be getting his truck tonight after his testing in Marshfield. We had a really good group in our RDTC class, all of them.

Umm, hmmm. So yeah, would that be somewhere between 94 and 96 degrees.... I'd take that, maybe it would melt some of the freakin snow away.
