Does anyone know if its possible to take a Cobra 29 WX NW ST and disable the Sound Tracker feature that doesn't do anything and use the button as a power selector? I mean make one setting a 1.5-2 watt DK and the other the stock radio setting??? Hypothetically of course...

I dont see why not...I have a buddy who has a 29 and his Delta Tune is what controlls his RF power after he modded it..

Yes, I guess it can be done.

OK, cool. Thanks. Now I just have to figure out how. The radio is stock right now and works good, I just need to figure out a way to get the 1.5-2 watt DK and keep the swing down to about 10 without messing up the stock settings...

A Good cb shop can either put in a variable dead key on one of your existing knobs or set your dead key to a low setting.

That's the Problem... I had a bad experience a while ago and I really don't know who to trust and there doesn't seem to be many options here in NJ.

I would leave the "Sound Tracker" feature alone. These Cobra 29 WX NW ST have a problem with squealing when you work with the sound tracker feature.
Installing dual knobs ( with an inter and outer knob in the same location ) is the way to go. Looks great, and you don't lose any features of this radio.
