I have talked to Maverick the only thing they could offer me was glass division and otr of course which i wouldn't mind the glass since it is 12-14 out and 2to 3 in.

Not bad. Not to mention that the glass division is the highest paid at Maverick. They START at .40 per mile and can move up to .46 within 6 months. And there are a lot of veteran drivers that don't make that.

Glass is tougher, and you really have to watch how you drive. But I know several glass drivers and they make very good money and are very happy. If you think you can do it, I would highly recommend it.

Hey Chinatown, thanks for all your posts here on TTR. They have been and are very helpful!! Which companies, other than Prime and Schneider, would you suggest looking into that hire out of a school? I live in Los Angeles. I am interested in tankers.
    Thanks.

Maybe Trimac. Also, check Careerbuilder website. Screen through the tanker list and check which have terminals near you. It sometimes takes more time & effort looking for those tanker jobs, but it will pay off. Some of the websites may be a little difficult to navigate looking for terminals, just don't hold back on the applications. Don't write Schneider off your list, it's a good company to get tanker training. Look at the big picture, with some training & experience you might get hired by a company like A&R Transport, which has terminals in California.

Thanks Chinatown. Great idea, Careerbuilder. I will get on it. I checked A&R website after seeing a few of their rigs. Something to shoot for! Nice trucks! Is tanker hard for a newbie? Or should I just go with dry van? Thanks.
