...and Sportpilot....the company is M I L L I S, not M I L L S. Don't know if it was autocorrect/typo. Just wanted to make sure you read-up on Millis, they seem straight-up from my internet/blog/forum reading. They're in Cartersville Ga.

Haven't seen the new movie. Yes, I've been a tanker yanker & it's easy money. We had drybulk and liquid loads. I preferred the liquid because much quicker to unload.. Liquid usually can unload in 45 min. to an hour, then rolling down the highway again. Hauled mostly liquid acid, 48 states & Canada. Schneider hires newbies for tanker, but you must attend a CDL school first; Schneider doesn't have a CDL school. Many newbies on this forum have landed top paying tanker jobs, hauling fuel or chemicals. Sometimes it takes much more effort with applications to land those jobs, but they are there. Those companies take a closer look at you if you have tanker/hazmat endorsements plus a passport and TWIC. Submit the application to Prime anyway. Check Careerbuilder website also.Sportpilot Thanks this.

Ah...thanks Q. You prob typed it correctly...and my brain read it wrong. I had an uncle who used to live in Castro Valley....loved to go out and visit him. SF is a great city!Chinatown Thanks this.

We were thinking of moving to SF, but the home prices are out of reach. Now doing some serious looking in South Las Vegas/Henderson, NV. The last two houses we put offers on, someone beat us to it. Not much of a concentrated Chinatown there though like in SF.
-
...SF's Chinatown is the largest in the US. I think I read it is the largest concentration of Chinese (outside of China, of course) in the world.
I never have been able to afford to buy a house here, either. Makes it that much easier to move-on and try something new. Trucking seems to be it. Look up my profile and see the picture of me at seven-years-old. My dad's high school buddy rolled into town one day...with that bigrig. I rode (illegally) in that truck from Florida to Pennsylvania...three days. I was in heaven...and obviously bitten... -
Hey Q, keep all of us posted on your "new" research on tankers. I'm interested in them as well, and will do the same!
Thanks.

G MAN No problem. I received an awesome PM from Chinatown. I'll PM you the info. What little I have read about tanker divisions, I thought would suit me. But I haven't REALLY looked into it. I has read tankers are a little trickier to drive...all that fluid sloshing around makes turning and stopping a little tricky. Keep me posted on what you find.

Will do Q! Thanks in advance for the forwarded PM.
