Get you a roll of bungee rope.
    about 40$ for a 100' roll.
look for it on ebay or at tarp shops.
You put it through a hole and tie and knot.
no hooks and cut to lenght.

    RAGE 18 Thanks this.

Flip your 8' drops around. A four piece set they are probably 20' long so that would give you 6' drop. Smoke tap the ends.

The right tarp size with the bungee rope Flight line is talking about and the tarping is done in 15mins. Get the ultralight tarp it will work like a beauty.

I would go with the rope option also. I've seen some others use it and are really fast in and out. Then you can use the tarp for some other odd loads when the need arises.

I just don't see where I would put the hooks for the rope, maybe on the outside rail?

Interesting idea. I would like to see it done or pics from anybody that has it.
Anything to make tarping quicker, easier and cheaper is good!

I used to carry 400 feet of 7/16 solid core rubber rope and the adjustable hooks for that also, but mostly for bungee cords i used the 30" rubber ones with a hook on each end. I would secure my tarps with the 30" then use the solid core on the first set of d rings low. And then i would zigzag back and forth over the entire load hooking ever 2 feet. My tarped loads looked like they were gift wrapped. No ballooning at all. I rarley used the hooks for the solid core rubber rope , just put a lock knot and half hitch in it and i was good to go coast to coast..... I also put my rubber rope and bungees in the side box when not in use. less hassel throwing my tarps.....

Underneath the trailer and out of the way. You don't have to mount the hooks to a approved load rating surface.

skellr you are the only one who responded with a common sense answer , i bet what he has got are 16 x 24 tarps, at worst if he turned em side ways he would use 2 , but like ya say turn em sideways, and booyah ya got 4 foot drops , lol

I do a variation of that. I use one rear tarp with a middle tarp sideways. They are about 16x25.

Problem is usually I need a hair more than 4 foot of drop, and any time I turn one sideways the amount of overlap and extra work is ridiculous.

If I get this extra tarp the four piece system might come out of the box a handful of times per year. It's a birch getting all four in there but it works.
