I got a preplan for a repower. Someone dropped it at the scale house on I5 in CA... And, unfortunately for me, it is over length... And heavy. 42.5k.... Bridge is at 41' and I have to cross the scale to get out of here. Advice? I already let swift know, no response from them.
Thank you for leaving this for me to deal with, my fellow swift driver! I greatly appreciate it.

He really has no other choice.

Which costs more? Over weight or over length?
-
I think I would be burning up the phone lines. Call onroad and tell them you need to cut some length off the trailer and reposition the axles...lol.
-
The best thing you can do is let someone at Swift make any decisions and document it with someone's name, etc. Don't take a hit on your DAC for someone else goof up. If there's a message on your qualcom, take a picture of it.
nascarchuck, critters and aiwiron Thank this. -
The phone has been goin! SWIFT got back to me. Trying to get authorization to break the seal. Also trying to find another truck to send up and split the load... Should take about 3 weeks... Not really 3 weeks, but I'm sure it won't be quick.
This load was brought by a team and was over weight and over length from what i gather so they dropped it and took off.
i hope swift doesn't let it slide with them. -
They will probably be split up, given new trucks, and made into mentors. How in the world did they get the load that far?
NavigatorWife, AZS and Joker85 Thank this. -
SWIFT seems to be doing the right thing. They told me not to move the trailer and definitely do not cross the scale. Both on the phone and via Qualcomm.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
The load originated in stockton CA and they dropped it at the southbound scale, bottom of the grapevine outside wheeler ridge.
im sure they knew. I could see that it was over length when I got to the ramp for the scale house. Could see it from 50' away that it was over length. We have big yellow stickers on the sides of our trailers marking 40'. Can't miss it.NavigatorWife Thanks this.
