If you have the correct load number on your cover sheet. It starts with ST.

    "Do what thou wilt."

Not sure what he's posting. But to answer your question is yes the cover sheet is your trip ####. As long as u had no expensives to report you don't need to scan a sheet for relays.

Keep in mind per diem is supposed to be capped at $1170 maximum a month. If you figure 4.5 weeks a month, 2500 paid miles a week you should be driving about 11,250 miles. 11,250/$1170 is only .105 cents per mile that is supposed to be tax free. In theory you'll have to pay the difference at the end of the year. With all the fuzzy math Per Diem brings on you'll probably never be called to the carpet for it, just saying.

If you're making more than 40 cpm then SNI's Per Diem starts to make financial sense. New drivers will take at least three years to earn that much, my bet would be closer to four.

If your total income tax rate (counting payroll taxes) exceeds 28% then SNI's per diem makes a whole lot of sense. Most people pay less than 20% in income and payroll taxes each year. Each individual needs to talk to a tax professional who can look at that person's assets, liabilities, needs, etc and put together an effective tax plan. My big problem is that SNI does not make the .02 cpm charge as explicit as they could and most drivers don't realize they might be losing out.

Remember, per diem exists to benefit SNI. Otherwise per diem would not be attatched to a 2 cent per mile pay cut.

yeah, it would be awesome if they had a line item on our pay statements showing how much per week they take for admin fees. ( not paying you).

I agree, seek professional advice, not the advice of truck drivers who arent known as always having accurate, correct info.

    DADof3 Thanks this.
