I know it seems crazy but recruiters generally suck at giving accurate information. Ask for the bonus info in writing. As far as I know, USX still has the $5000 signing bonus for new teams. Experienced teams only got $4000 last I heard.

I've been teaming with USX for 7 months and was promised the 5,000 team bonus in driving school by two different recruiters. We only received the small bonus for making it through the 8 weeks forced teaming. No one including two fleet owners will admit we are due this bonus and refuse to pay it as promised. We enjoy the job are getting good miles but are pissed they won't pay the bonus as promised. I did see they are offering 8,000 to experienced teams with 3 months experience. It's posted on Craigslist everyday.

We learned our lesson, make sure that you always get everything in WRITING before you sign on. The company that we hired on with, were offering a $5,000 bonus, well, I went to train for 8 weeks, and just before I was finished and my hubby was going to join me to team drive, we got the "Oh, that one's expired" but, you can now get a $1,000 bonus, broken up into so much after 30 days, and then the rest in 90 days, well, the 90 days came and went, when I called to ask about it, "Oh, something got overlooked" Then when the 6 month mark came, we were in an Act of God Accident, not our fault, nothing reported by state trooper, or company, so we were not driving, and were on work mans comp. Well, after 9 months, called and asked again, and was told "you have to actually be driving, and since we were on work mans comp, we were not going to get it. Well, no paperwork was signed, and we went on the promises from the head of recruiting which, he mysteriously no longer worked there. Finally got some satisfaction from the New HR guy for $400. But, are still owed $600.00 of that $1,000 bonus!

After asking our recruiter several times about this and being told there is no bonus for teams without experience we've just decided to drop the subject with him and chock it up as a valuable learning experience. In the long run we are just happy that we'll be getting the miles we want, have a relatively new truck, pets are allowed and we'll end up with 48 cpm. The pros far outweigh the cons at USX
