I hate putting straps over the Tarp simply because it looks crappy!

    Joetro and MJ1657 Thank this.

Yeah. All thanks to Boyd. But if it cuts the tarps...I got another set and these tarps are a dollar a piece. Oh well. Thanks all for the advice. I've made it to my destination with no real major issues. Tips for the next load.

I don't know what the situation was when you picked the load up. But, I got some good advice years ago, tarps need to be TIGHT back to front first, then pulled down to the deck. 8' stuff is a challenge ALWAYS!

Is that something they normally do? Seems like a strange thing to do.

I don't know. I've seen a Boyd tarp before and it didn't look like that. I bet it is because our company doesn't give them bungies to tie down our tarps with so they just strap over it to fix the issue. Heck. They don't even give us bungies unless we happen by the yard which isn't often and if we need bungies right then and there we are screwed unless we throw straps over or spend out of our own pockets. Not happening since bungies are 2 bucks a pop at the truck stops.

That is what I usually do. I picked up the load as it is in the picture. The only thing I did was throw bungies on and tighten everything down. Our yard in Greenville, ms is about half the size of my back yard. No one around and the only thing to make a ladder out of wouldn't support my weight so I didn't bother to redo it.

Utility Trailer sells fantastic Tedelyne bungies for around $40 a case (50).

Will have to check them out. Do they have stores around the US or is this an online thing?
