Question on Allowed Appliances

Hey All,

I have narrowed down the list of companies I am going to go with and Central is one of them. As I have yet to get an answer from a recruiter about this bit of information I am looking for, I figured I would ask everyone here.

When it comes to Company Drivers, what electronics are allowed? If I purchase a large invertor (1500 Watts, possibly 2000 but not sure yet) would the Company allow that to be installed by their maintenance team at a terminal? The reason I am looking at getting that large of an invertor is I am interested in getting a small refrigerator, I will also have my TV, Laptop and a few small cooking implements (Small Crockpot, Small Toaster Oven) so I want to ensure I am going to have enough power to use those items. Pretty sure the 1500 is what I am going to go with depending on price, and of course what the company will allow.

Any Central Company Drivers or people in the know have info on what they will allow on their trucks and what they will install if purchased by the driver? Thanks ahead of time!

 

I am not 100% sure about a Microwave, my wife and I might look into one a little while after we get into a truck but it isn't something we are too worried about because most of the stuff we do anymore are made in the crock pot or toaster oven. Mostly do a lot of homemade meals and slow cook meals that can be made while driving and cook for hours. The Microwave might be helpful for a few things though.

And yeah I would never attempt to install an inverter myself, I am just hoping that the company would allow it and either have it installed by the PM team or maybe installed by an authorized dealer/mechanic.

 

Oh for sure, I intend on knowing before I leave for training if they will allow it, I am guessing I will just have to keep asking until I get the question answered.

 

lol well not really, I just know that since my wife will be coming on the road with me we want to be able to cook in the truck instead of eating out which will help us save cash as well as eat healthier so I just want to make sure that the companies I am applying too will allow this sort of stuff before I start out.

Mostly what I will be running is the Crockpot and Toaster Oven, the fridge would be nice but if I don't have the space I will probably just get a large electric cooler instead (40 Qt probably) The main thing is if I could run the Crock Pot, Toaster Oven and TV at the same time I would be set. The Laptops and Cell Phones hold a charge long enough I shouldn't have any issues with that while cooking.
