uhhh...how do you NOT know you need a PO? You're trainer must not have done his job very well. I always made sure I scaled at least twice with a student, once using the Comdata card, and once cash to submit for a PO for reimbursement.

I always paid for scales and oil upfront, with or without advanced notice. cause the oil I didnt want to go in, find out how much it was with tax, go out, get the PO number and then go back in and buy it. scales i just always paid cash, unless I was fueling then I just added it onto the fuel. for me I never had an issue getting PO's for those... now getting fuel and def... totally different story lol

Uhhhhh let's see......trainer always said receipts were good to get reimbursed. We used POs as well. I was told by payroll send in register receipts and you will get reimbursed. And as blue says sometimes it is much easier to do the cash thing. Now all of a sudden you have to have a PO to get your money back. What's wrong with a receipt.....shows you spent your money for what you said you did. And as far as the comdata card goes I've had money loaded on that for scales before and the person at the desk wasn't able to pull it off.....that has happened more than once. In the old days(I drove for a year and a half 26 years ago) you would send in a receipt and get your money back....plain and simple.

Well, your trainer was somewhat right, not only are receipts a good thing to reimbursed, but you can't get your money without one! lol
However, ANYTHING to get paid MUST have a PO BEFORE submitting the receipt! ALWAYS been that way. PO must be requested DURING THAT trip, as every cost is assigned to the trip. It's a nightmare asking for a PO after the trip has been closed out.

Example: Wiper blades needed...BUY them, SAVE receipt. Go into the truck, submit your NON-lumper money request, with the amount. They send you a PO #, you write the PO on your receipt, and TransFlo it in with your trip sheet.

On a side note...why are we even talking about this on a FORMER May driver thread? lol

yeah that was kinda what I meant as well lol, I paid for them up front, but if I didn't get a PO for them I wouldn't expect to get reimbursed. I would pay, then get a PO so that they would reimburse me for it, then put the PO number on the receipt and scan it. I never just bought something and sent in the receipt hoping to get the money back, why, when once i ask for a PO you get your money instantly. Now, with the company Im with now, we dont do PO's... i just buy the scale, I submit my slip with my load and I get reimbursed along with my paycheck. we CAN get them to give us the money upfront for it with a comcheck but Im lazy and dont wanna do all that work for $10 when I can just get it paid along with my load.
