I think Columbus used it for a sail on one of his ships. The winds are just horrible down here. I had just done a load check 30 minutes before and everything was just how it should be. I looked in the mirror just in time to see all the bungees on the driver side go slack. They are sending two guys down with a new tarp and said they will get a wrecker to put it on if they have too, "they dont want anybody hurt".

Yep... we are having a confrence call tomorrow about the gig. Hopefully I will find out more info, but right now the shipper is wanting a curtain side step for some reason, and Gm said NO CURTAINSIDE, so now LS, the agent, the shipper and myself get to talk it all out. I do know if this thing doesn't happen soon, I am going to tell them to shove it and go get my flatbed and hit the road. The Step is good, but step rates are not as good as I thought they would be. LS has way too many SD trailers running right now, and these other carriers pulling Step freight at van rates are just crazy. I made more per month with my flat, so that is what I'm going back with.

I got to make an icy climb up the west side of Pikes Peak on the way up to the gold mine this morning. There was an oversize with pilot cars behind me talking on 19. I pulled off and let them pass me so I could get road reports from the lead pilot.

I have to say it was the first time I was really nervous in the truck. We all made it ok with just a little slipping and sliding.

Got a Boom Lift going to OH, sitting in Maybrook, NY right now waiting for the snow/rain line to pass before heading into PA....don't want freezing rain popping up going down the hill on 84. Got in here just in time last night before they closed 84 West into PA.....got the last parking slot, too. Whew.
