The Pete's are getting removed from the fleet early - ol' Don Lacey doesn't like that 16% more likely to roll jazz!

 

Where the heck does that come from, IP? I'd love to know how Pete managed that, just about have to be something in the rear suspension setup, seeing as all the major components (weight) are in the same spots.

 

The tiny 386's are top-heavy, and that's a problem with inexperienced drivers - we got a bunch of them. The statistic is from Prime's internal numbers.

 

I wasn't clear enough. How can a truck with all the major components in the same place, and most likely the same frame height, have a significantly higher cg? Almost has to be something in the way the rear suspension reacts to rolling (i.e. the bags aren't progressive enough allowing excess roll.) I suppose it's also possible the narrower cab, by placing the driver closer to the centerline of the truck, is affecting the driver's perception of how much the truck is leaning.

 

Yup... that was my number 2 reason, mostly because it takes a bunch more typing to spit it out! I'd agree with suspension design- they are shorter.

 

My question is about having the jump seat pulled out and having a mini fridge put in. Can I use my own mini fridge. Or does prime have to give it the ok ( for the amount of power it draws) or mabee they have a certain type if fridge that is built specifically for the trucks.

 

Any ol' dorm fridge will do. Frigidare makes a nice 3 cu. foot capacity fridge with a separate freezer that works well.

 

Cool, I have a mini fridge at the house. When I get in a truck I guess I'll put in in. Can't wait actually I go home this week and start my going solo orientation thing next week.

 

Drop by the detail shop the next time you're at the yard, and inquire about how that will work. You could get them to pull the seat before going home...
