Hey guys, hope all is well. I'm looking to haul with a 2 car trailer and an 06 Duramax Dually that I just purchased yesterday. I will be hauling from Jersey to LI making 2 trips daily. I based the business out of my parents address in FL. Thats where I purchased the dually.

Here are the issues/questions I have:

-I believe I need an "Interstate Lic" however, does that require a CDL? I will be under the 26k weight that a CDL is calling for but the website is talking about a CDL Lic.

-What kind of mods can I do to my Duramax that is DOT approved? EFI? Exhaust? I'm looking to get the best MPG I can get.

-Insurance (this is huge) buddy of mine said to get a Million dollar bond, 50k for the trailer and basic liability? I got quoted $10k for the year, $3k down, $780 a month for 9 months. Is that accurate?

-Can I get DOT numbers from FL if I am taking the truck to NY tomorrow? Does the truck need to be inspected by DOT?

-How does umbrella insurance under someone else work? Does my truck have to be under their name? Meaning the title has to be signed over?

I am licensed in the city & county of Fort Pierce FL, do I need to be licensed or permitted in NY/NJ and any other state I have to travel through?

Who? I highly doubt that. How can they NOT insure you? Did you double check with other companies?
