Yeah, however not always easy to do when driving OTR, right ? But, yes, the Cop doesn't always show. My last ticket in San Diego 12 yrs ago was done in the mail. Plead not guulty, wrote my version and won ! The Cop never answered his court request. Plus I submitted pics of the area.

That's one trick by lawyers is to put cases off as many times as they can. Then most likely the cop won't show up.

But yes when you have to protect your livelihood fight them tickets. Take it a step further and try not to get them in the first place by practicing good habits. If nothing else most courts will knock the fine in half when you show up.

OTR drivers can use prepaid legal plans or hire a lawyer as needed. They can represent you on your behalf and you not even have to be there. But if you can show up with your boxing gloves on! :)

CSA is just half of it. You still have your MVR to protect.

It won't go on your CSA score if you are not handed an inspection report with the violation on it. That's how they gather their info. If it's a local cop most likely he isn't DOT qualified. But today drivers can expect an inspection report when they do get a ticket.

Anyone know if a "crossing a grassy median" ticket (Texas) count against your CSA/MVR? This is my first one and don't know anyone who's received one.

There was no signs (for miles) and I crossed the median about 200 yards from an actual exit ramp and about 400 yards from an accident taking up the highway/exit...about 50yrds past a couple changing a flat tire. People in front of me was doing it and people behind me was doing it...I watched about 2-3 dozen cars doing it while I was being cited for it. I'm all for admitting I'm wrong when I'm wrong but I felt the officer was a bit over zealous and placed both our lives in danger doing so. The conditions was wet and parked next to a field. The officer had to approach by way of my drivers side. Each time he had to a) hide by hind my truck waiting for traffic to clear (other people crossing the median and speeding) and b), hold on to my truck due to the slick road conditions. I came very close to being stuck as well. I was in my personal truck and was slipping badly in 4WD trying to leave.

Anyhow, does it count against your insurance/CSA/MVR?

edited: Talked with the court this morning, crossing a median does count against you. So I set a court date.
