    With millis you go out with a trainer for a couple weeks before you take the CDL test. that may be different with texas, as this is the first class, and I don't know the laws down there.

    I think he already had his cdl and passed his backing and road test to be able to leave with a trainer

    Texas has a 90 day window from when you get your permit until you have to have your CDL or start over.... So this is the first class, and it was a close window so they did it before the trainer. Four out of five took the cdl test the other guy had his... It is Texas and completely new all around it appears.

    I feel lucky now, Georgia gives you a year on your permit just like a regular Class C.
