This board is full of great information and many times humorous. To all of you a BIG THANK YOU. Now, here I go again. Got my own authority and need to rent a reefer so I can haul refrig. and dry. Called Xtra and they don't rent to individuals. I always pulled dry vans and some occasional flats. I am looking on suggestions on what kind of trailer and any company in my area that would work with me. Again, thank yall.

Check the load boards for PO or LDOT postings in your area.

Not really, I bought the truck with intentions of leasing, but being on the upper 60's not many companies will answer my application. Hence, I decided to go "down in glory" as an independent.

Ryder might possibly rent to you or Penske if they are close to you

I tried leasing by calling around when I first was getting my authority. I'm sole-proprietorship. No one leases to a sole-prop company. Nor, do they lease/rent to someone in business less than a year (the second caveat when I mentioned getting an LLC). So, I bought a used one for $10k, ran it until it gave me too many problems, and then bought a new one eight months later.

    bullhaulerswife and VIAJERO1A Thank this.
