As for still wanting to work there , never again , I have a rule in my life (Never go back) . I am not there by my choice , not by safety's choice . Maybe you like working there , good for you , but it does not mean that everyone will . So , I will continue to write on EVERY SHARKEY post that appears on here . Outlaw 13, you said you found a couple of great companies that you loved, who were they? Why are you not there anymore? What happened?

 

Well one of them went out of business , if they did not I would still have been there ! The last one(GSTC trucking) started well & then went totally sour after 6 monthes . It is ashame that trucking companies will tell us (drivers) not to lie or answer something wrong , because you will not be hired , but they on the other hand will say anything to get us into the front door !!! just call this ad company j&m but it was sharky offering .43 per mile Odometer Mileage Pay (all miles driven). tanker Dedicated Product Out & Back haz-mat up to 8 stops per load at $13.00 per stop out of florida

 

The tanker thing was just starting when I left . Maybe it is better , but read everything in the ad . Sharkey , does not pay for a vacation or holidays , where Sisbro & Core divisions did . Do not know anything about their tanker division . Sharkey was not a totally bad company , just needed honest advertizing & up front DM's ! Give them a call & see what they say . Good luck .

Does anybody know if Sharkey still has Donaldson Dedicated? If they do, is it a solid operation to run for?

 

So many other better options than Sharkey.

 

Just curious, what is reason for that? Just thought they used to be a reputable brand.

I’m local to them and every driver around here knows about them. I can’t fathom driving that junk, working out of that filthy compound, working for menial wages and minimal benefits, working for ungrateful people, when Dot Foods is a 30min drive toward $100K/yr, great equipment, great benefits, free onsite healthcare, unlimited loads, potential for $10K in annual bonuses, nice people, automatic wash bay, fully concreted property, and all the other perks of working for the world’s largest food redistributor.
