Tons of talk about crap wages and guys always looking for new jobs. I have buddies in Ont and the Maritimes that are always crying but won't move, at the same time I know of jobs that cannot be filled?!
So what is a decent wage for a company driver....example Mon-Fri (occasional weekends) before taxes?
What's a decent wage?

What sector of the industry are you refering to? There can be a pretty wide gap as we all know between on and off road. My highway guys are makin about 5-6000 a month and thats runnin between 10-12K miles a month. My 'off road' guys are makin about 6-8K a month n thats workin 7 on 7 off...

Highway work whether its hopper bottom super B's or stepdeck work.
To me $6000-7500/mnth gross yanking hopper bottoms around is pretty good money....but I could be outta touch with reality.
There is lots of talk about crap wages and how a guy can't make a comfortable living.
So what would does it take for guys to roll outta bed? I'm a farmer so I'm used to working for nothing.... -
The way I see it, if you like your job, can pay your bills and put some money away for a rainy day then the wages are ok. Don't think you can put a monetary value on each and every type of job.
thelongwalker Thanks this. -
$400/day is a good start

First off I'll say I don't have a dog in this fight...
But I just back from Fla vacation and I paid a buddy to run my truck and in 2 1/2 weeks he was in it the truck gross was approx 25000 (and that's with all the storms we had). Most guys pay between 22 and 24%.
Now its no guarranteed 400/day but I don't think its bad money.
A friend of mine pays percentage on his stepdecks but his guys apparently making similar money...but they go south. -
I yank SuperB tankers around, mostly all Highway work and grossed 83k for 2012 working 7on/7off... I don't think thats to shabby. When I did infield hauling I grossed 92k/yr on a 7/4 and 7/3 shift. I think Superb tanker wage $25-$35/hr is fairly reasonable depending on exp and etc.

$25000. in 2.5 weeks = 1388.88 a day / 10 hours driving = $138.88 per hour. How do you do it? @ 22% = $305.55 per day / 12 with pre trip, fuel, load etc = $25.46 an hour.
