Must have gotten distracted by where he said he wanted US and Canada. You don't often hear about people taking a cab to another country. Although after looking back, I see he's from Buffalo.

    Thanks for the replies guys.....

I read some reviews on the Garmins....Is it true that you cannot select either quickest or shortest route in the settings on the newer Garmins ? They only have quickest routes now ?

    BlueThunderr,
Probably any of the large screen "car" gps units would do fine.
My family has 4 TomTom's. Currently, I'm using the XXL 530S in my rig. (5" touch screen)
I'm only considering buying something else because of the "truck" features.

You will find this advice repeated again and again: NO gps is perfect. They all have flaws, and quirks.
For instance, last week we went to my son's baseball game in Maurepas, LA. Googlemaps showed the school located on "LA 22." TomTom didn't list a "LA 22" but did show a "Hwy 22." Good thing Maurepas was a tiny town and all I had to do was scroll down through the street names.

I've used a Garmin also. They're OK, and since you already have one, you might not have as much of a learning curve if you simply buy a 5" Garmin.
