I wanted to stop in and finally say hello since I've been lurking for about 4 months. I'm glad that I finally found a place that has an active women's forum and I've been able to learn about the company my husband drives for.
A little about me: my husband and I have been married almost two years. We have an 8 year old cat that keeps me in line while he's gone.![]()
It's nice to "meet" everyone and I look forward to finding a place here on the forum.![]()

Hi! This is a great place
How long has your hubby drove? Me and my husband are also fairly newlyweds...our 3rd anniversary is coming up in May
What company does he drive for?
d o g Thanks this. -
Welcome, my hubby will be married 3 yrs in October and so far he's been driving local, but that's Fixin to change and he's going otr. Good luck to you both

He started this career path in August 2012 with CDL A in hand. He drives for a large company but prefers I don't say which one. (Men! They can be so secretive! LOL)
Our anniversary is in April. We will have been together 7 years come July. After 4.5 years I figured I had better keep him! LOL
Thanks for the warm welcome!

Mine trained OTR, decided to run regional once he went solo and now we're trying to figure things out. I can handle him being gone 3 weeks, but longer than that is too much for me. :smt090 By the 4th week I had better have an idea of when he's coming home. (give or take 14 +/- days of when the request was put in.) Yeah, I'm new at this. LOL
Thanks for the luck and warm welcome!

My hubby did otr for a short time in the very beginning but since we've been together he's been home every night. I love that!! But at the same time I love him and respect his career choice, as he does mine in corrections.... He thinks I'm crazy but he still respects it, lol.
I can't imagine him being gone for months at a time and from what I've read most trucking companies get their drivers home at least a couple days every 2-3 weeks. That alone will be very hard so I can't even imagine how hard it must be to have your hubby gone for longer.
Wishing you both the best
d o g Thanks this.
