Unloaded at the Nuclear Sub Factory this morning, then shot up to Terre haute to grab a load of skidded coils..... well, it turns out the 46K of skidded coils was actually a single 46K coil. I don;t carry racks with me, or beveled lumber, or the friction mats they wanted so i said SEE YA and DH home. On the way home, i got pulled over by IN State police and got a Level 3 and issued a "warning" citation for going 62 in a 60.... yeah, i know.
Anyways, loading up some flow-bin's in the morning going to Pascagoula, MS for delivery monday, so i get a few more days at home.MJ1657 Thanks this. -
Home for the night. Truck is serviced and ready to go.
Getting up at 4:30 to load corn. Have to drive across a guys yard to get to the bin site i'm loading at so it only works to go in there early in the morning when the ground is still froze.volvodriver01 and aiwiron Thank this. -

Wayland MO at the J.
So this should make Pape happy if he didn't already know, Boyd bought out Mid Seven. I dont know much about Mid Seven but I do know about Boyd. That cant be good fot rates. -
Oh really!! I see then down in the SE all the time
-
And most of their equipment is junk, what account do they have the Boyd wants?
-
Unfortunately, I was well aware of this. I would assume this will not be good, but I am not sure how big of a deal it is. I would be much more concerned if it was someone like Maverick. The other good thing is that Mid 7 was not that big a player. I don't think think Boyd got much value from this purchase. I hate to see wall board haulers getting into the specialized game.
Interestingly enough, even in a down market, we keep finding customers that are willing to pay for top notch service. It's not easy, but we are expanding our customer base. For example, we have a relatively new national customer that is sending lots of business our way. All of their loads are spot bid and they are choosing to use us even when we are not the least expensive because of our high service standards. Customers love working with someone that always does what was agreed upon.
Follow Cluck's motto..."don't suck."fortycalglock, Meltom, SHC and 1 other person Thank this. -

I heard a Boyd driver saying he is pulling JD stuff. He was pulling a step also. That was a first seeing that. I would.guess Moline and E Moline is where they are pulling out of mostly. Not sure about the other stuff.
