    Hello everyone,

I am 25 years old and looking to enter the trucking industry on dispatcher end of the business. I am some what experienced in the broker side of the business.

What i'm looking for is some guidance. So please ask me some questions because, I really not sure where to start. I'm still in research phase of things.

    Thank You,

    Brian

We want to hire owner operators on a load to load, self renewing contract as well as having 5 trucks of our own to start and build from there.

Okay I have someone I know someone that can help me with that.

The info im looking for is about trucks. I have not one clue what to look for. I want to learn as much info and what to look for before I even go look at one and talk to someone about buying one.

    So...

What trucks give you the best bang for your buck?
What are some of the features I want in a truck?
What engine are the more reliable but efficient at the same time?
What are some of the more reliable transmissions out there?
If I buy used, whats the best amount of mileage to buy a truck at?
What are some of the main issues I should familiarize myself with?

If you really wanted to be the best at what you do, you would 1. go drive a truck for 2 years, and learn the roads and the freight lanes 2. go work at a mega carrier as a dispatcher for a year to see the other side of the coin. THEN, you would know exactly what trucks to buy and how to set them up for maximum performance (the best economy, and power)) which would keep the drivers happy. No offense amigo, but it sounds to me like youre going about this the wrong way. Jumping in with both feet can be financial suicide. Its like never watching football before, don't know anything about football, and trying to start a pro team. Even with deep pockets, it would be YEARS before you were competitive.

Probably will do solo trucks. Not sure about governing, I would like some insight on that. One driver I spoke to said 65 is a good governed speed. We were thinking of running all 48 states with the exclusion of CA for now. We would like to hire both Newbie and experienced.
