still in houston all loaded up one crate 4,000lbs one street sweeper 17,000lbs and plate steel 23,000lbs 42,560lbs on the spread so i figured i'd move sweeper up to the front a couple of feet and turns out the battery's are junk so dropped the trailer and jumped it off the truck after about an hour it finally started pin back up to trailer move sweeper up right to the front and now i sit at 41,560lbs on the spread so now i gotta sit here for the night head over to where i loaded the plate steel on the other side of town and have them move that to the front and back the sweeper toward the back and chances are i'll have to jump it off again blah
ideally if i the shipper for the sweeper would have backed it on we would of been all set but he didnt feel comfortable doing that considering it's 8'4 inches wide and has zero visabillity towards the real except mirrorsMJ1657 Thanks this. -

i pulled an rgn for many years. i know how they turn. it might cause you to manuever out a bit differently, but it isnt a deal breaker by any means. the closed axles dont turn differently, its the kingpin setting . pull a mobile home on a ball behind a tandem axle and see what that does.
what i am telling you is this, after many more years of doing this , nose in or nose out parking will be inconsequential. just another bump in the road. it would be no different than someone backing in next to you who didnt bump the curb or had their tandems all the way back or the long wheelbase tractor backed in next to you.aiwiron Thanks this. -
I'm amazed you are able to tell him what can and what can't be done without even being in the same lot to see his situation.volvodriver01 Thanks this.

Just need it to pay as well as this does. Not to much to ask it it?
You'd have to buy me a Mt Dew... not a coffee man.
ThanksCluck Cluck Thanks this. -
well, i been in the exact same location, i have seen the parking lot there, i also read his his description of how he was parked, and also his reply where he said the problem was the overhang of the 53' trl with the tandems slid up where when the guy nosed in his steer tires stopped at the curb , wheras if he had backed in the overhang would have been over the curb and made him 5 foot further back.
it may take a wee bit more manuevering on his part to extricate himself from that parking spot, but its a reality that will happen many more times if he continues to drive. i promise after a while as long as everyone get parked you want give a rats behind how they park.
and it isnt really amazing at all that i am able to tell him that. my wondrous abilities are shared by many others on this forum, 33 years of pulling in and out of parking spaces , docks, jobsites, reffer runs with 19 drops in brooklyn queens and bronx will give one almost pyschic abilities to pictures parking lots, truck stops and shippers facilities. it takes many many years , and several million miles of traveling interstates and backroads, delivered to hundreds of thousands of customers, shippers and receivers to acquire that knowledge.
heck google earth could even help with that . but complaining about nose in parking get me riled up when the biggest problem facing our society is peeing on toilet lids and not a word gets mentioned, that and 62 mph trucks.
anyway, what ya want to bet he got out of the space with no problem? whether the guy moved or not?
dude, in case ya havent figured it out, i am just trying to tell milskired to just relax and not worry about small stuff, i give you the same .

You seem to be getting bent out of shape when I just gave you a compliment.
I think maybe you should take some of your own advice and not sweat the small stuff??? -
mj, you are dead on. i got to laugh at myself on this one for sure. i took your post as being sarcastic, when you were actually complimenting me. i apologize to you sir, and am wiping the egg off my face between laughing at myself.
i have been shot threw the heart with one of my own arrows.

thanks due, for jerking my chain when needed.
you know thats the only drawback to internet postings, you lose the inflection and tone sometimes that infer meaning.SHC, volvodriver01 and MJ1657 Thank this.
