I heard they were bought out by Wheaton, and there is an old saying "You aint eatin with Wheaton" Are you sure you want to go O/O in the moving business? The money isnt what it used to be. Back when fuel was $1-2.00 a gallon rates were good. I remember running military at 200% linehauls, Now with $4.00 a gallon your lucky to catch something over 70%. Even COD's and National Accounts are getting huge discounts and are being sold as TPG's (Total price guarantee) so if it goes over estimate, the customer doesn't get charged and the driver has to eat it. I lost 6K on one job because of a TPG. Not trying to talk you out of it but HHG has took a major hit in recent years.
superpet39 Thanks this. -
Oh Lawd where do I start??? If you like working so hard your knees and elbows are SCREAMING at the end of the day, which you beg to finally come and STILL BE IN THE HOLE,while the worthless labor you get from local agencies wherever you go get their overpaid $,then by all means...it's just peachy!
I went from anywhere to $8000-$10,000 a week to ALWAYS BEING IN THE HOLE!!!!
i spent over 29 years in HHG ,and I will never go back! It's just not worth it anymore !
If by some miracle you get a good load,a shipper,or labor breaking or stealing something
will make sure you will still come up short one way or another...
hopefully you didn't go over to HHG driver....
