Prime background, work history check

I understand how the industry works and the requirements but once again W2s are NOT a requirement, not by the feds, not by any governing entity. As long as -you- have no problems with it, fine. However, others do have problems with it and will not allow these unnecessary behaviors. You make the assumption it "keeps the hosers out" based on a personal opinion with no supporting evidence. My opinion, and others', is the opposite and I submit the many quality carriers out there with stellar employees and drivers of such companies that do NOT require W2s as a precondition of hire support my contention.

Regarding the driver of a semi who was involved in accident with a busload of kids to which you refer ... apples and oranges. I readily acknowledge submitting documents to the feds is a crime, as it is a crime to submit false documents to obtain goods or a service through fraudulent means but this does NOT extend to obtaining a job unless the job is for a state, local or federal government. However, as I indicated in the other post, Prime is NOT the feds nor are they are required by the feds to ask for W2s or use W2s for ANYTHING. If what you're implying were true every single person who ever put anything false, whether dates, qualifications, etc. on an application, or stretched the truth in any manner whatsoever, could be prosecuted for what you allege. Again, I urge you to obtain a legal opinion on this matter since you believe otherwise.

Now, I don't know where you obtained this erroneous information but I'm going to hazard it came from ... (drum toll, please) Prime.

 

You're assumption is quite wrong. If you want to work for Prime - and there is a huge waiting list, you need to comply with the requests for information that they make. Obviously you have a problem with all of this - and it's YOUR problem not ours.

 

Waiting list for trainers? I didn't realize that Prime was that popular lately...

Waits on trainers and trucks can be swift, or as long as a couple weeks, depending on your circumstances.

 

Well, I'm not going to be drawn into a peeing match with you regarding who is wrong or right in respect to a law of which I've already verified several times in the past. I've invited you to please check for yourself by obtaining a sound legal opinion instead of tossing an opinion out there as fact.

I understand there is a huge waiting list for Prime and one needs to comply with the requests if one wishes a job with one of these companies requiring such demands. I don't have a problem with anything Prime does because I would never apply to work for a company with such insolent demands and a lack of respect and trust in their drivers and their ability to somehow not manage a proper background check without knowing what the driver earned at their previous job.

And who are you speaking for besides yourself regarding your use of the word "ours?" The newbies who apply? Choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil. Simply look at Prime's -averaged- turnover rate in regard to new hires.

 

It is almost as though someone is being penalized for taking the initiative of having made extra money on a their last job or in a previous job.
