My fuel info on Sunday looks pretty much the same every week. 6.5mpg, 14% OOR. I don't get it. I drive 58~60 and take off slowly. I've even resorted to following their fuel routing off the Qualcomm exactly, and it's always the same. 6.5/14% :(

Try only putting enough fuel in the truck for the amount of miles you are going to drive to get you over 7mpg for the next few fuel stops. See my last post on Whats your mpg thread for an example of what I mean. And keep driving the way you describe, and put a bottle of FPPF Fuel Power in your tanks at each fuel stop.

I just had my truck repaired at the Gary shop yesterday, a major air leak in the primary line. I have no idea what the hell they changed, but my fuel mileage has shot up through the roof.

At 65 mph I'm getting 6.97, and on others advice, I started driving at 60. At this moment I'm getting 7.34, and I'm pulling 38,000 lbs. not a heavy load, but about average for TCD. Those numbers are from the dash readout... The Qualcomm says 8.0 right this minute.

Sounds like your air to air was leaking which will cause huge mpg problems.

Seriously? 11 months of bad fuel mileage and it was a freaking air leak? Son of a....

I need to go take a diesel mechanics course or something. This truck has been in the shop and Freightliner 14 times since I got it, and no one noticed that?!?

I run 62 mph, I set the cruise by the tach, just a lilttle over 1400. I usually get 7.5 n up. I got 7.25 on the last 2 loads that were 44k and 43k. Take off slow and I manually shift when I'm in stop n go traffic, never let the tach go over 1400. I run below 62 or at 65 and my mileage goes down.
