US KIDS? LOL #### I am 45 and I am being called a kid?

So far with Knight I only had a $600 week 3 times. Even at that I
Wouldn't complain coming from a forklift job bringing home usually $300 to $400. A week with overtime.

Six bills a week is not good. There is no reason why you shouldn't make at least $900 every week. Otherwise OTR is just not worth it. Heck I had a local home each night job where $800 was an average week. $1,100 was a great week.

In there lies the problem. As long as you are content being out on the road away from family for $ 600. a week , change will not come to this industry. You pull loads paying them thousands and you settle for a few hundred ?

Now who says I am content? I drive. I don't turn any loads down. I always get there ontime. I will own my own rig in 3-5 years and in 10 I want to have at least 2-4 rigs running for me. I know for now is ok to start out with to get my experience but soon I will n.

Believe me to an old fart, 45 IS just a kid!:biggrin_2559:

Hey, look, if you are happy there, that is just great. You say you have a plan, and I hope it works out for you. My experience with Knight is old, I'll admit. But I know that a company like that, never changes it's basic ethics. And I also know where the owners are coming from. . .But as I said, if it works for you right now, that is all that matters.

$600 a week average. Key word here --AVERAGE--
Some weeks are $900 and some are $400 - $500
With breakdowns, low freight, long live loads/unloads etc...

    $30k a year.

    That's it.

I would swear by gods name but im catholic and don't like doing that.

I like my job with my steady paycheck.

    Again. Key word here --JOB--

That is what I like about you Professional-Trucker. You state what you make a week and annually. You are happy with what you are making right? If that is good for you then who cares what others say. Myself, I average around 600 myself after taxes. Some weeks are better than others. Right now, we are in a slow period on Macy's. So if I want more hours, I work a Saturday here and there. I can gross between 40K-50K as a dedicated local driver. I am content. If an opportunity is presented to me by another company that offers more pay, better benefits, then I will take my leave. Until then, I wait patiently.

Also be careful with that work JOB. (Just Over Broke) That was told to me years ago when I first started. You don't want a job, you want a career.
