So as i was going on 264 headed to norfolk VA. i came accross a tunnel and it said tunnel max highet 13' 6''. Max width 8.0ft well i went threw anyway. There was TONS of signs that said truck inspection station must enter when flashing well it wasnt flashing and no one was in there. I didnt see a sign saying no trucks. anyone know if we are aloud to take this tunnel or not? Its not the tunnel you pay for and it runs under the water.

If your wider than 96 in you don't suppose too... I use to run through it at night when i first started with Schneider hauling Wal-Mart freight and making multiple drops in the Tidewater to save time late at night when there was less traffic. Container haulers and most LTL guys can go thru there but that's about it.

I stopped at the inspection station one night with 46000 lbs of liquid oxygen in trailer I was ok'd to go through but a gentleman pulling a big camper was turned around for having two 50lb propane bottles on his camper trailer....

If says 96/8-0 max you sure can & will.....if you do it there do you do it in other places? An ignorant nation will never be free! TJ. You lose you freedom when the blue lights come on!

All the short tunnels in that area have over height detectors and inspection stations.the lights flash if your to tall to clear.

What does that have to with taking a 102 into a restricted 96 route. Remember knowledge will keep you free and prosperious. Ignorance and disregard will hamper it.

When I played football in HS our coach said no one will be better prepared to meet there opponent then we will. Education and preperation. Know you opponents. Know where and what to expect that day when your feet hit the floor BEFORE you go to work! Do not trust gadgets more than Rand McNally.
