there's a pull off rest area on the LIE between exit 51 and 52, you just have to get there early. no facilities, but i do remember the east bound side having port a potties.

the google map printed directions you have suck for a truck. example, there is a tonnage limit on hainesport-lumberton road, you have to go to the bypass to get back to berry drive.

you don't have to go all the way to exit 59 on the lie, get off at 57 go to veterans and run it all the way to lincoln.

you seem like you have a decent head on your shoulders so i think at the end of it all you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

I'm taking a load to Linden, NJ in a few weeks. That is the closest I'll have been to NYC in many years.... almost don't even want to go into NJ to be honest LOL

 

good job with the updated map, but with one exception. when you come over the throgs neck, DON'T get off onto the cross island parkway like google wants you to, stay on the clearview (295) to the lie. remember, no trucks on parkways.

hopefully you have a reload on the island?

OK BIG FYIONT no when u r coming off gisland 2 day BUT TODAY IS YANKEES HOME OPENER which is kinda like a holiday in NYC anyway--games@105--so trfx thru Bronx gonna b a disaster all am--u will have a short window(If trfx recovers-)big if)from about 130-330 then things will go from bad to worse rest of pm--I no it costs more (and I ain't gonna try to post my sneak outs)but u might wanna consider goin out the bottom and payin 4 Verrazano--ck w/a local if u can a out sneakin off the island on sunrise hiway and out thru bklyn---FYI AM1010 WINS is ur friend trfx on the 1s every 10 mins

 

Well Congratulations. Just remember you got the easy tour, when you've got to make multiple stops in Manhattan the Bronx or Brooklyn during the day and fight with rush hour trraffic you'll see what the fuss is all about.
