hi, I will be starting private funded school within next few weeks and had a job offer from a company that tells me I gotta do 3-4 months team training till I get 40,000 miles. I have a felon 5 yrs old and was originally referred to this company by these forums and I understand I have to start somewhere but this don't cut it. Because of my problems I expected a few obstacles but I am a military vet with 3 dependants and at least need a bit of a livable wage till I get there. I expected to clear 300-400 for what most companys seem to give a 6 week period of training. 4 months is just taking advantage of the situation. Can any1 plz give me any advice?? I am located east of Knoxville and want to start small but not ridiculous amount of time? I cant go 4 months at 300 a week or my kids will be starving.
40,000 mile training at 15 cents??? help

That says it all right there. No offense, but anyone with a clean record that's looking for a job will get to choose which one they want before you do. And there's no shortage of applicants with clean records. So, the convicted felon takes what's offered.Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this.

Well if they run you like a team you can expect anywhere from 4500 to 6000 miles. Even 4500 miles you would gross 675.00.

I appreciate the input bro but I understand that most drivers only average 2500 to 3000 miles in a good week because of the math with a 63 mph governor an a 11 hour day?????even this company said I would only take home about 350 for about 4 months and that's from the recruiter...correct me if im wrong that's about 375??? per week
-
Is this considered all miles pay for 15 cents a mile. And if it is then the guy is right about the minimum 4500 miles a week you'll just be doing that for 10 weeks not that bad
-
ok well I got confused because the recruiter said I would be bringing home about 3 something a week at .15 cents but I see you guys are sayin 15 cents for every mile the truck roles wether im driving or not. yalls math makes since but she makes me nervous with the 3 something a week

If you really need a job get one at a gas station the Arabs will hit convicts in Chicago lol the guy at the gas station the next town over is the neiborhood drunk

That's if you're driving solo. Team trucks average twice that. Also, $300-$500/wk is a average starting pay for student drivers. I understand you have a family to support, but this is what student drivers are worth. Students flat out don't make 40k a year to start with, and those who say otherwise are lying.Tonythetruckerdude and pejoge1203 Thank this.

the other posters are right, should be for all miles, your options are limited due your past, might want to call recruiter and get things clarified incase you need to do somthing else. Good Luck.

I hate to add insult to injury, If I was you I'd check around but it seems like that is going to be the deal, If you go to that Sub PRIME Company I warn you to NOT take the Flease they offer you, You think your kids are starving now on $3-400.00 a week, they won't be eating with the U O Us Pay checks, Just a thought I know no one has mentioned the company name but it is pretty obvious. Thanks.
