I have been checking the help wanted ads and a lot of them require you already have these certificates. What is the best way to obtain them? Can you take online courses? Are some of the courses a scam? Any info would be appreciated. I don't want to waste my time or money on certificates that will not be accepted.
Also, what type of osha10 do you need? Industry or construction?

i dont know what the osha10 is.....
sorry i know i wasnt any help -
Hello Giggles; The OSHA10 is a 10 hour course you have to sit through and they basically just tell you what stupid mistakes not to make. Common sense would cover most of it but common sense seems to be lacking in our younger generations so somebody gets $80 per person to tell you "don't do that".
I like the idea of having my own certifications so I can take them with me wherever I go. Can't hurt the resume either.
Several of the craigs list jobs in ND want you to have both H2S and OSHA10.
I would just like to hear from somebody who has done these independantly.Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
OSHA 10 is a basic construction safety course. You can take the course online, there are several vendors that provide it.
cisco and Giggles the Original Thank this. -
Depending on your location there are companies that will give you the required training you need, not sure what they charge.
In the Permian Basin most use these guys.

Bart Larsen trucking wanted me to have both before applying with them they sent me the web address, cost was $89 for osha10 and $10 for the hs2.
Giggles the Original and Chibob Thank this. -
There seem to be several companies online. I just want to make sure I am using the right ones. -
I deleted the post, will dig through my trash. Ask the co's who you are applying to who they use, Larsen wanted the Industry not Construction osha10

Thanks colorado; I figured it would be the industrial but I didn't want to pay for the wrong one. There is a company 23 miles away who does this training for the OSHA 10. I could just go sit through it. The H2S is the one I want to learn as much as possible. I don't want to die from stupidity.
sanook Thanks this.
