Eggactly!! I try to think of both us us

If I were him, I wouldn't allow my trucks to go West of I35. He has some drivers sitting for a week in Cali.
One of our drivers wanted to DH 300 miles out of NM to grab a load, but the boss wanted him to sit for something closer. He ended up sitting for 3 days. I wouldn't have called the boss to ask if I could DH, but maybe the coordinator made the call.
I would have figured the numbers. If I ran into a bad area at $2.30, DH 300 miles, then ran another load at $1.80, and the length of haul was appropriate, I could justify the DH. Then the truck could make up the difference for the extra revenue it is going to generate for the three days it would have sat.
I'm good at remedial math, but ask me anything about Algebra II
There was a driver that DHed 630 miles from NM to KS to get a load on a Friday that was 120 miles away from me
I had to sit the weekend

Well my bounce miles just went up.
Sitting on detention pay and the customer figured out how to get out of that.
Now I'm bouncing another 350 miles to get a small legal ld. going right back to our ld. out site..
But the rate it has on it is good.
Even with my bounce from Oklahoma city to the pick up point back to the rig site in Oh. I'm still getting 1.35 for all the miles, plus 2 days detention time.
