I once saw a semi rear end a dumptruck. I don't know how fast he was going, but the big bull bar on the semi was bent back about 1/2" away from the top of the hood on his fancy KW.

That big bumper saved his butt that day :)

well my quick stop by the shop ended in an all day fiasco turns out my truck was due for a full service and i had aquired an electrical gremlin making my chicken lights not work also my headlights were only working when they wanted so got that sorted out then got 3 brand new batteries. it took almost half a day to get me in the shop cuz they were slammed

so i helped them get caught up somewhat so then i went upstairs and pestered the dispatchers for the rest of the day. I got to play dispatcher with a broker on a oversize i wanted I talked them up from 2650 to 3300 from brunswick me down to brook park oh and toledo ohio 2 stopper and first part is the oversize if u wanna call it that 8'8 wide second stop is not. not to shabby for my first time actually booking a load lol

then i answered phones pretty much for the rest of the day joy joy

also had to deal with one of our drivers that i used to work with back in the the trash hauling days. he went AWOL for the last 3 days out in washington right after he told his dispatcher he was gonna kick his ###. then all of a sudden he sends an email to dispatch saying when he gets back he was quitting because of his wife was having complications with her pregnancy which i found it to be kinda funny since i have her and him on my friends list on facebook and they never said anything about her being pregnant...

so yes today has been and interesting day and i have made a decion that i as far as i can see in to the future I will NEVER become a dispatcher....makes the stress of a driver seem like a cakewalk.

truck is all done im gonna grab a bite to eat in our sub shop and pass out pick up that load in the am and pick up the g/f and we are gonna ride out

When I dispatched at Roehl I always thought the should open a bar in the office. It would be a good source of revenue and probably make everyone want to come to work. Then again I also wanted a sandy beach two palm trees and a hammock.

yeah these were definitely locals, both had pipe set ups. The hitter was driving a fairly nice W9 though, not so nice anymore.

Blackwell, AR (I-40 exit 101) at a pretty descent mom n pop place. I almost though I was in Texas with all the frac sand and water bottle trucks here. Don't think they will be doing much tho since the oil pipeline busted back near Little Rock and is spilling crude from the oil sands of Canada all into a river. They had a TON of equipment out along the roadside which had traffic all backed up about 15 miles.

Anywaus, loading up my last piece tomorrow then headed to Denver. Going to deliver the silo on Friday but can't unload my other piece till Monday morning when the crew shows up. So I get to spend all weekend in Denver YAY ME !!!
