skateboardman, crst requires 3/8's chains, mercer = 5/16's. All of my chains are 5/16's also, crst does not require a headache rack.
As is often the case with my temper related decisions, in hindsight, I should have just had them fix it, I did not burn the bridge and they said that I would be welcome back.
crst flarbed division??

I have no experience with flatbed so I need a place that will train new o/o's on flatbed. That is not something a lot of companies will do.
I talked to a buddy of mine who runs local now and he was with crst. He loved it. He said he made good money and was home when ever he wanted. He left because he wanted to be home every night with his kid.
a lot of the negative comments I have read on here seem to be from lease purchase drivers. I personally think that is a always a losing situation. I haven't found many o/o's on here that are with or were with crst to find out their experiences. -
Semi Crazy, Classix1055, Myself are 3 owner ops just in this one discussion. No one on this thread of yours is or was a lease operator. One other thing you could do is go to the "lounge" at Rockport and listen to the talk from the guys that are running with them. I would just hate for you to lease on with Malone and then be miserable within the first few months and quit. There are alot better company's to lease your truck on with. Good luck.
-
Just wondering why you think Malone is going to let you slide with cracked shoe, ABS dash lamp out and license bracket lamp out?
Why even have a lamp on the rear of the tractor that's not necessary? Just one more thing to go wrong at the wrong time. It's not like it's a chicken light
or something!

you should tell someone at crst with the trailer pockets and spools not having the same rating as the chains they are only as good as the weakest link. a 5/16 chain will work just fine. check the ratings on the trailer pockets and spools.
honestly, if you had the ability to fix the problems they found at mercer, you should have fixed them and went ahead and leased on. you would have been better off. the three problems they found would have gigged you at a dot inspection anyway.
but i see guys at louisville do that often, they find something, which will only cause trouble later, you would have been surprised at how inexpensive the repair would have been by those guys that fix things there on the lot, they charge like a 50 to 55 dollar an hour labor rate and dont fool around. for example , complete one axle brake job 200 to 225 parts and labor.
i think one day you will regret your haste. if ya fixed things , why dont ya call em back?SHC Thanks this. -
I agree, go back to Mercer. Stay far away from CRST
The Challenger Thanks this. -
I'm not leased on CRST nor mercer. I'm leased to a small guy where I'm from. I do alot of loads for CRST and they always paid me well,on time, and we had no problems.
Beethoven Thanks this. -
I might as well release the cat but I currently just leased my truck onto CRST, if you like a bunch of 1.70 freight with tarping going in between 300-500 miles then this is your place. I'm trying to find the niche, they said it will take time, but I did i nationwide search and most of the freight i see paying well is Lumber out of Virginia going north and highway paint coming out of GA, outside of that everything seems low, especially when you include tarping.
Clasix1055, SHC, MJ1657 and 2 others Thank this. -
The rust belt stuff is always there just not on the board. Don't rely 100% on the board. You gotta call agents. Use the list.

EDIT: Oops, double post.
